Therapeutic exercises are specific exercises meant for correcting specific problems.

Therapeutic exercise refers to a wide range of physical activities that focuses on restoring and maintaining strength, endurance, flexiblity and balance. The goal of therapeutic exercises is to return a patient to a fully functioning, pain-free state. Examples of exercise prescription include but are not limited to:

  • Restorative movement
  • Postural correction
  • Functional movement
  • Range of motion- active, active assisted, passive
  • Strengthening- isometric (without movement) or isotonic (with movement)
  • Proprioceptive and stability
  • Motor control
  • Core stability and pelvic floor strengthening
